  • We provide a full range of yacht and small craft surveys, including pre-purchase surveys, insurance and condition surveys, damage and advisory inspections, and refit or pre-refit surveys. Surveys are tailored to the vessel type, usage, and client requirements.

  • We survey sailing yachts, motor yachts, motorboats, houseboats and liveaboard craft. This includes vessels used on inland waterways, tidal rivers, estuaries and coastal waters, as well as craft capable of offshore use.

  • Our core operating area covers the South and East of England, including London, Essex, Suffolk, Kent, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Hampshire, East Sussex and West Sussex.

    We regularly work along the River Thames, the Thames Estuary, and the East Anglian coast. Surveys elsewhere in the UK can also be arranged by agreement.

  • Yes. March & Co Marine Ltd provides fully independent marine surveys. We have no connection to brokers, boatyards or sellers, ensuring impartial advice and objective reporting.

  • A pre-purchase survey is a detailed inspection of the vessel’s structure, systems, machinery installation, safety equipment and general condition. The aim is to identify defects, highlight safety concerns, and provide a clear assessment to support informed purchase decisions.

  • Yes. We regularly carry out insurance and condition surveys for underwriters and owners. These surveys assess the vessel’s general condition and suitability for continued insurance cover, often including recommendations for remedial works.

  • Where possible, out-of-water inspection is strongly recommended, particularly for pre-purchase surveys. This allows inspection of the hull, underwater fittings, keel, propeller and running gear. In-water surveys can be carried out where lifting is not feasible, subject to limitations.

  • Yes — we provide independent damage assessment surveys to support insurance claims and repair decisions.

  • Yes. We have extensive experience surveying houseboats and liveaboard craft, particularly on the River Thames and inland waterways. These surveys consider both marine and habitation aspects, tailored to how the vessel is used.
